Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions

The University of Mary invites applications for a full-time, exempt Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions.  The Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions is responsible for the recruitment of students for admission to the University of graduate programs.  Additionally, the Assistant Director will bear administrative responsibilities including the mentoring and development of admissions professionals, marketing/promotion plan and materials, and event planning.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities Include:

  • Recruiting of graduate students for admission to the University of Mary within an assigned territory. Responsibilities include managing that territory and reaching out to prospective students directly, as well as maintaining accurate records in the University’s CRM
  • Works with Executive Director of University of Mary Worldwide in development and implementation of the strategic plan and strategic initiatives for the enrollment of graduate students
  • Provide accurate and objective admissions data when requested
  • Assist in the professional development of graduate recruitment staff, including one-on-one coaching sessions developing sales and territory management skills
  • Works in a collaborative manner with leadership in the academic schools, financial aid, to reach student enrollment goals and ensure seamless service for all students
  • Assist staff members in the planning, promotion, and execution of university events intended for the recruitment of graduate students
  • In collaboration with the university’s marketing team and direct supervisor, develop a strategic marketing plan to meet student inquiry goals and work with them to ensure quality and timely execution
  • Coordinate with the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Distance Admissions to ensure alignment of processes and practices between markets
  • Assist with oversight of student work staff, providing training, work direction, and support
  • Upholds and promotes the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary
  • Supports the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae, the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities
  • Builds a culture of ready and earnest hospitality in the Office of Enrollment Services and throughout the university in accord with Saint Benedict’s admonition that all be received as Christ

Qualifications Include:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in applicable field required
  • A Master’s in marketing, Business, Communication, or Education preferred
  • A minimum of three years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  • Proficiency and demonstrated success working in recruitment or sales required
  • Experience in recruiting traditional student markets preferred

Knowledge and Skills Include:

  • Individual must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills; must be able to work and lead in a team environment. Must effectively interact with prospective and current students, staff, organizations, business and all partners and contacts of the University of Mary
  • A strong public service orientation to work well with faculty, staff and students
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments
  • Ability to work with a diverse team in a fast-paces environment
  • Enthusiasm and the ability to thrive and lead in an atmosphere of constant change
